- Battery: Provides electrical power to the device. Most disposable vapes use lithium batteries; high-capacity rechargeable disposable devices may also include a USB-C charging port.
- Coil / Atomizer (Heating Element): Converts electrical energy into heat, allowing the e-liquid to be transformed into an aerosol. Modern devices commonly use structures such as Mesh Coils (mesh heating elements).
- E-liquid Reservoir / Tank: Stores the e-liquid. Different designs may use e-liquid storage cotton or a sealed liquid chamber system.
- Wicking Material: Transfers e-liquid to the coil area, keeping the heating element continuously supplied with liquid.
- Airflow Sensor & Control Circuit (PCB): Detects the user's inhale action and activates the device. It manages power output, battery operation, and some protection features. Devices with screens may also integrate battery level and e-liquid display controls.
- Housing, Airflow Path & Mouthpiece: Forms the complete structure of the device and controls the airflow path, allowing air to enter through the inlet, pass through the atomisation area, and reach the mouthpiece.
Simply understood:
Battery → Control Circuit → Heating Coil
E-liquid Reservoir → Wicking Material → Coil → Airflow Path → Mouthpiece
